Playing around with my new Lowel ID-Light 100 Watt Focus Flood Light. These images are SOOC and the camera was set to Tungsten for white balance. I’m pretty impressed with the quality of light that this puts out. Something new for me to bring with me to the next set of weddings we shoot. Here are my trusty sidekicks Maggie & Steve allowing me to test out the light…

People have asked me how I did this shot so here goes… My goal was for the image to look like it came out of a photobooth that you would find in the mall or at the state fair. First, I needed a blue background and I happen to have a blue towel in the closet and I laid that on the back of the couch. Next was to get some shots of Maggie, then just shots of Steve and then add Maggie back into the equation while Steve was still up there. The trick for keeping their heads together was me lying on my back and using my feet to push their heads together. After making a bunch of noises and just firing a bunch of shots I took my favorites into photoshop for the final image below:

Maggie waiting patiently for me to throw her ball. That’s Steve in the background looking on.
Steve and Maggie pretty much stayed outside and played most of today. So I took the opportunity and decided for them that it was time for spring portraits.
In the first photo, Maggie gave me the “Seriously? You with the camera again” look. The second photo is the Steve “I refuse to look at you while you have that big thing in front of your face” look. (He’s not really seeing what the neighbor dogs are doing). And last but not least Maggie refuses to sit on her hind legs like a champion Beagle at the Westminster Kennel Club. She chooses to sit on her rumpus. Apparently its more comfortable this way

As 2008 comes to a close I thought I’d take some images for my last blog for 2008.

Happy New Year!!!

While waiting around for the roofers to show up today, I thought I’d snap a couple of pics of the hounds hanging around out in my backyard.
Maggie’s ears flipped back on their own when the roofing truck showed up and she did her howling thing. She’s knows she’s being a dork with that grin she has on her face
