A photographer I like to follow by the name of Chase Jarvis wrote a book called “The Best Camera Is The One That’s With You”. He mentions that “an image can come from any camera, even a mobile phone“.
Here are some images I’ve taken with my iPhone because it was the camera that was with me at the time. And the fact that “there’s an app for that” allows me to play around with images from apps that I’ve downloaded. So, it’s true, that an image can come from any camera, even a mobile phone.

Here’s an image I took from the Ashcraft farm where my class reunion was held last weekend. It’s located just south of my hometown of Newton, Kansas.
For some reason I had the opening scene of Motley Crue’s video “Dr. Feelgood” in my mind when I shot this, so I attribute it as my inspiration for this image.

Danielle stopped by the studio for a “belly” session since she is pretty close to her due date (I believe she said she was a week or so away). We were trying to find a place that had good window light but the weather had been spotty the past 2 weeks so I decided to create a window in the studio to shoot these images with. Danielle was an absolute hoot to photograph and I wish her a successful pregnancy. Here are a couple of my faves from her session…

Creating the window was pretty easy. Just some curtains from the Big Box store and then adding 4 lights behind for even lighting.
Here are handful of behind the scenes images from last weekends wedding of Brian and I shooting Sara & Jason’s wedding. On top of shooting the wedding we’re also taking candids of: test shots for lighting, each other, goofin’ around shots and just plain catching each other “chimping” on our cameras. Enjoy!
