Here’s an image I took from the Ashcraft farm where my class reunion was held last weekend. It’s located just south of my hometown of Newton, Kansas.
For some reason I had the opening scene of Motley Crue’s video “Dr. Feelgood” in my mind when I shot this, so I attribute it as my inspiration for this image.

Today I went to Tanganyika Wildlife Park to photograph a family event put on by local Waddell & Reed Agents. This was the first time I had ever been to Tanganyika and I really had a lot of fun there. My favorite part of today was where I got to shoot for myself and get some fun images of the animals. Here are a handful of images from today…

I was asked to photograph a handful of National Night Out block parties this year for the 2nd year in a row. It’s always neat to see everyone in their neighborhood come out for some good food and good conversation with other neighbors. Some parties were bigger than others but the point was to get out, meet their neighbors and their community police officers or the officers that work the beat in their neighborhoods. Here are some candids from my tour with Community Police Office Whyte…

I went to the Sedgwick County Zoo last night to check out Robert Cray as their summer concert series featured performer . He was fantastic and tons of people showed up to watch his hour and a half set. I was able to get these images before the camera police showed up to tell everyone that cameras were not allowed. I’m assuming it was in Roberts contract that photos were only allowed during his first song and that’s it. Either way, I like the images I was able to walk away with. Here are some of my faves…

I went to a Wichita Wingnuts baseball game last night and one of the events they had was the running of the Hotdog, Taquito and Egg Roll from Quik Trip. They were pretty funny to watch especially when the Taquito goes flying into the air to attack the Hotdog.

I was one of the photographers hired by In The Mix Pix to help shoot the Midwest Rockfest concert held in Wellington, KS this past weekend. The 80’s hair band line-up was KEEL, Slaughter, Kix, Great White and Dokken. After a 12 hour day and 1,200 images, I walked away very dusty & dirty, but I honestly had a really great time. I really enjoyed having access to all areas to shoot whatever I wanted. The area around the stage was pretty tight and I had to work around several photographers but I think I walked away with some pretty cool stuff.
I listened to a lot of 80’s rock music in high school and for me to photograph these bands was a great experience. Here are a handful of images…
