Here’s an image I took from the Ashcraft farm where my class reunion was held last weekend. It’s located just south of my hometown of Newton, Kansas.
For some reason I had the opening scene of Motley Crue’s video “Dr. Feelgood” in my mind when I shot this, so I attribute it as my inspiration for this image.

We were asked by the staff at Heartspring to photograph some of their kids for their up coming fundraiser – Lights on the Lake.
I really enjoyed working side by side with Heartspring’s Katie, Jennifer and Melanie as they were so great with the kids and getting them to have fun during their photoshoots. I’m guessing by the smiles on the kids faces that they had fun too.
I’ve included a link to Heartsprings 6th Annual – Lights on the Lake event so if you could, take a moment and check out their website or better yet, visit Lights on the Lake as part of your holiday, driving through the Heartspring campus to marvel at dozens of displays, thousands of lights and their 45-foot-tall tree of lights (Heartspring.org).

Photographing Aaron & Jennifer’s wedding was a lot o’ fun yesterday. I met Jennifer at The Hotel Old Town where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids. After arriving at the church by limo, we had it set up for Aaron to see Jennifer for the first time during their quiet moment. On our way to the ceremony we stopped by The Keeper of The Plains Statue for some fun candids and then it was off to the Mid-America All Indian Center for the reception. It was a beautiful wedding and the reception was a lot of fun. We really enjoyed working with Tinley and her staff from Jubilations Event Planners. They really helped make the day go really smooth.
Congratulations Aaron & Jennifer…

Barry and Kim were so much fun during their engagement session that I knew their wedding would be fun too. After getting ready at Barry’s parents house, we headed outside to capture their “quiet moment”, which is the couple seeing each other for the first time, and to get some fun candids as well. Did I mention they had great weather for their wedding day? Then we were off to Nativity Pines for the ceremony and reception.
Congratulations Barry and Kim!!!

I was extremely excited to see that Lucia & Eden were going to be wearing Chucks for their photoshoot today. The girls were a lot of fun and full of energy. We started off in a park in downtown Wichita and then off to a sunflower field in South West Wichita. But a huge thorny sticker patch prevented us from getting to the sunflowers, so we weren’t able to get any images from there. But I really liked what I got from the park so I still count the shoot as a success. Here are some candids from their shoot…

Brian and I photographed Daniel and Betty’s wedding today. The ceremony and the reception was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, here in Wichita, KS. Beautiful overcast day allowed for some fun pictures of the couple both inside and outside. Here are some of my faves from Daniel and Betty’s wedding…

Here are some images from a fun shoot where I met the Wetta family at a park, at sunrise, on the west side of Wichita. I loved Mollie’s idea of bringing a love seat to the shoot. It made for some fun and different family images.

Donny O from Margaritas Cantina has a very cool Hot Rod that he wanted to enter in a Hot Rodding magazine contest. I was up for the challenge but needed a place to shoot it. After a couple of location ideas, we settled on the area next to Exploration Places Putt Putt Golf course. With permission, we rolled the car up and positioned it to where I could see the Keeper of the Plains statue in the background. For fill I used an AB800 fitted with a beauty dish and a Vagabond battery pack.
This isn’t what was submitted for the contest but a ramped up version of it to give it a little more of an HDR look.

Brian and I traveled to Salina, KS to photograph Cody & Bethanie’s awesome wedding. I thought at first the weather wasn’t going to play along but after a little sprinkling in the morning it turned out to be a very beautiful and sunny day.
The ceremony was held at The First Southern Baptist Church, the same church that just lost it’s steeple to a very heavy duty storm a couple of weeks ago. Here’s the news link to that story. The hole had been patched as it would have made for some interesting ceremony photos. The reception was held at Rolling Hills Wildlife Zoo just outside of Salina. What a cool place to have a reception!
Congratulations Bethanie & Cody!!!
